
| Biographical Information Benjamin C. Mauro, Ph.D., BCBA-D Director of Consultative Services Positive Behavioral Dynamics, LLC is a behavior- analytic firm under the direction of Benjamin C. Mauro, Ph.D., BCBA. Dr. Mauro has seventeen years of professional experience in psychology and behavior analysis. He received his doctoral degree in psychology from Temple University, postdoctoral training in applied behavior analysis at the Biobehavioral Unit of the Children’s Seashore House, and served as a Research Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Mauro was a Psychologist at the Northern Virginia Training Center for over five years, serving individuals with developmental disabilities and mental retardation. Dr. Mauro is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Maryland University College. He is a Licensed Applied Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Behavior Analysis, the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, and the Virginia Psychological Association. Dr. Mauro has published behavioral research in prestigious scientific journals such as the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis (JABA) and the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior (JEAB). He has presented numerous workshops and seminars on applied behavior analysis in the Northern Virginia and Maryland Capitol Region. Dr. Mauro is a strong consultative source on matters of functional assessment and treatment of challenging behavioral problems, especially for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and mental retardation. He likewise has substantial experience developing, implementing and monitoring home-based and office-based ABA Programs for children with autism and related disorders. Dr. Mauro maintains an informed professional interest in the assessment and treatment of noncompliance, preference assessment and reinforcer identification, behavioral momentum, and a systems approach to parent training, skills generalization, treatment integrity, and behavioral reliability. |




| Dorothy Xuan Zhang, B.S. ABA Therapist II Ms. Dorothy Zhang is a part-time contractual ABA Therapist II with Positive Behavioral Dynamics, LLC. Her primary responsibility includes the implementation of ABA Therapy for children with autism and related disorders. Ms. Zhang obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia with a double major in chemistry and psychology. Ms. Zhang currently attends the Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis Program at George Mason University (GMU). She is working toward a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology and certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ms. Zhang has worked with students from age five to fourteen using ABA Therapy at the Virginia Institute of Autism (VIA). She was actively involved with curriculum design, making materials, writing behavior support plans, and attending students’ IEP meetings. She has served as the inclusion specialist and has provided academic presentations on staff- development day. In addition, she familiarized herself with behavioral assessments such as the ABLLS and VB-MAPP, data taking, and graphing while at VIA. She has furthered her professional development through attendance at the National Autism Conference and the Organization for Autism Research Conference. She is currently working with two boys with autism (ages 5 and 7) implementing ABA Therapy at their homes as part of her GMU practicum. |
| Stephanie D. Ellison, B.S. ABA Therapist II Ms. Stephanie D. Ellison is an ABA Therapist with Positive Behavioral Dynamics, LLC. Ms.Ellison provides implementation of home-based and office- based ABA Programs and one-on-one instruction for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the James Madison University in 2008 with an interest in child development and abnormal psychology. Ms. Ellison previously worked at the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center in Phoenix, Arizona as a Clinical Interventionist in their Community School, providing clinical services to children on the Spectrum in an inclusive classroom setting. Ms. Ellison has volunteered with and tutored children with various mental and developmental disabilities since she was in elementary school which inspired her to continue with that kind of work as a career. Since she began working with children with Autism, she has shown a strong interest in implementing behavioral intervention plans and other ABA methods. Ms. Ellison plans on working towards getting her BCaBA certification as well as a master’s degree in the near future. |

| Andrea Del' Aguila, M.A. Lead ABA Therapist II Ms. Andrea Del’Aguila is a Lead ABA Therapist II with Positive Behavioral Dynamics, LLC. Ms. Del’Aguila earned a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Maryland in College Park. She recently completed a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Ms. Del’Aguila conducted her clinical practicum at Chicago’s Easter Seals – Therapeutic School and Center for Autism Research. She provided services to individuals with special needs along with completing her Master’s thesis of the Acquisition and Generalization of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Children with Autism across Different Settings. Moreover, her clinical practicum also consisted of working as a graduate intern at Kennedy Krieger Institute, Neurobehavioral Unit. Her areas of interest include conducting functional analysis, functional assessment and creating Behavior Intervention Plans. Ms. Del’Aguila is preparing to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam in April 2010. |
