
| Biographical Information Benjamin C. Mauro, Ph.D., BCBA-D Executive Director Positive Behavioral Dynamics, LLC is a behavior- analytic firm under the direction of Benjamin C. Mauro, Ph.D., BCBA. Dr. Mauro has seventeen years of professional experience in psychology and behavior analysis. He received his doctoral degree in psychology from Temple University, postdoctoral training in applied behavior analysis at the Biobehavioral Unit of the Children’s Seashore House, and served as a Research Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Mauro was a Psychologist at the Northern Virginia Training Center for over five years, serving individuals with developmental disabilities and mental retardation. Dr. Mauro is currently an Associate Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis in the Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Program at The Sage Colleges. He is a Licensed Applied Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Behavior Analysis, the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, and the Virginia Psychological Association. Dr. Mauro has published behavioral research in prestigious scientific journals such as the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis (JABA) and the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior (JEAB). He has presented numerous workshops and seminars on applied behavior analysis in the Northern Virginia and Maryland Capitol Region. Dr. Mauro is a strong consultative source on matters of functional assessment and treatment of challenging behavioral problems, especially for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and mental retardation. He likewise has substantial experience developing, implementing and monitoring home-based and office-based ABA Programs for children with autism and related disorders. Dr. Mauro maintains an informed professional interest in the assessment and treatment of noncompliance, preference assessment and reinforcer identification, behavioral momentum, and a systems approach to parent training, skills generalization, treatment integrity, and behavioral reliability. |




| Katherine M. Bennett, M.Ed. ABA Therapist Katherine Bennett is a part-time contractual ABA Therapist whose primary responsibility is implement- ing ABA Therapy for children with autism and related disorders. Ms. Bennett earned her Master of Educa- tion from Vanderbilt University in 2008 and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from George Mason University in 2005. Prior to attending graduate school, Ms. Bennett completed the Level 1 TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication related handicapped CHildren) training program at the University of North Carolina and completed a training course in the Affect Based Language Curriculum (ABLC) (2006). She is a candidate for the BCBA in September 2010. Prior to returning to Northern Virginia, Ms. Bennett was a classroom teacher for the children's unit at the Psychiatric Hospital at Vanderbilt. She also spent one year as the teacher in a Communication & Behavior Intervention Program (CBIP) classroom in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Ms. Bennett has practiced applied behavior analysis in clinical, school, and home settings with children with a wide range of cognitive and behavior disorders ranging in age from 3 to 17 years. Her experience in ABA includes conducting functional behavioral assessment, analog functional analysis, writing and implementing behavioral intervention plans, taking data, writing and implementing ABA programs, using discrete trials and embedded discrete trials, and parent training. |
| Aimee L. Worsham, M.Ed. ABA Therapist Ms. Aimee Worsham is a part-time contractural ABA Therapist with Positive Behavioral Dynamics, LLC. Her primary responsibility includes the implementation of ABA Therapy for children with autism and related disorders. Ms. Worsham received her Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), and finished her Masters in Education at Vanderbilt University. She specializes in early childhood special education, and has worked with children presenting with varying abilities and ages. Ms. Worsham is working toward receiving her certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA), and is currently taking the Florida Institute of Technology online coursework to continue her studies. |
| G.L. Usher, B.A. ABA Therapist G.L. Usher is a part-time contractual ABA Therapist with Positive Behavioral Dynamics, LLC. His primary responsibility includes implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis for children with autism and related disorders. Mr. Usher earned a Bachelors of Arts from Central Bible College in 2002. He received a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis for Special Populations from the University of Massachusetts-Boston in 2007. Mr. Usher participated in award-winning research through the Pennsylvania Association for Behavior Analysis in 2005. He also received PECS training in 2006. Mr. Usher has over ten years of experience working with a range of students from preschool to high school. He has used ABA to provide therapy to students with autism, emotional disabilities, and mental retardation. Before coming to the Washington, D.C. area, Mr. Usher worked in Berwyn, Pennsylvania at Melmark, a school for children with autism that uses an Applied Behavior Analysis. He served as a Behavioral Support Specialist for students from eleven to twenty-one years old, teaching academic, life skills, and communication IEP goals. Currently, Mr. Usher works at Oak Valley Center with students with autistic and emotional disabilities. He is also pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Capital Bible Seminary. |
